About Dr. Thomas

Clifton Thomas, MD, is a board certified general surgeon and graduated from Southwestern Medical School with a mini-fellowship in bariatric surgery. Before moving into a private practice focused on minimally invasive laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgery, Dr. Thomas worked as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Marshall University in West Virginia. As far as nutrition and behavioral change are concerned, Dr. Thomas has taken many advanced courses.

He is known for the ease of his operation and his ability to make the entire process simple for the patient. Often, nurses ask him “Why do your patients do so well and have so few complications, post-operative pain, or nausea?” The answer is always the same. “It’s lots of things and they add up”.
